You will serve as an Assistant Planner in the Director of Industrial Operations Group (6.0), Industrial Operations Management Departments (6.3), Maintenance Planning Branch (33200), Industrial Maintenance Division (6.3.3) of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will determine repair procedures, installation, methods, and practices used to complete assigned projects or work orders. You will plan work for maintenance employees based on resource capabilities of the employees. You will interpret work orders, instructions, and diagrams to plan, layout, and set up maintenance operations. You will assemble materials needed (e.g., facilities equipment, prefabricated items, system, vendor material) to prepare kit packages for shipboard or facility work.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. 1) Reviewing work orders, written/oral instructions and blueprints in order to determine material, equipment and tools to accomplish specified work. 2) Reviewing job orders and material list to assure timely delivery, material availability and prevent delays and increase shop efficiency. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
