Duties

Support analyst in cost estimating and cost analysis. Works with AFRL Headquarters functionals and Technical Directorates defining decision support and cost analysis desired outcomes and develops analysis approaches for achieving outcomes. Performs a broad range of cost & operations research analysis entailing unique problems, creativity, innovative use of techniques, advanced approaches, &/or new technologies. Assists with development, adaptation, & automation of cost estimating, analysis processes, & reporting. Utilizes scientific inquiry in development of mathematical cost models & computer programs to support assigned projects, studies, or problems. Provides technical & cost guidance, advisory support, and assistance to division and senior leadership. Supports senior personnel in conducting non-routine projects. Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, & seminars related to cost estimating & analysis. Provides assistance in planning, monitoring, & conducting special studies & projects. Collects & analyzes information & data, cost estimate documentation, & presentation of briefings & reports. Attends training classes & activities as directed. Accomplishes professional development & maintains technical proficiency.

BASIC REQIREMENTS: Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Specialized experience is experience in utilizing scientific inquiry in the development, adaptation, and automation of cost estimating, cost analysis processes, and reporting.
