About the Position: The Alaska District is seeking to fill a Section Chief position located in the Regional Regulatory Division, North Branch, North Section. An ideal candidate will have strong leadership and Regulatory experience, to include excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills, detail-orientated, a passion for helping others, and exceptional customer service skills. Experience working with a team in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Duties

Serves as Chief of a Section with responsibility for administering and enforcing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regulatory Program within a wide area of Alaska. Executes the Corps Regulatory Program within assigned area of Alaska District to meet the needs of management and assigned functional responsibilities. Interprets and directs the implementation of regulations, directives and procedures affecting assigned functions. Plans and directs through subordinate staff the implementation of functional responsibilities of a Regulatory Section which includes the following activities. Counsels potential applicants concerning the geographic extent of the Corps regulatory jurisdiction and permitting procedures and requirements.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
