You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (Data Management) in the Product Data Reporting and Evaluation Program (PDREP) branch, Federal Supplier Performance Information Systems Division, Supplier Performance and Logistic Systems Department the Naval Sea Logistics Center (NSLC) (NAVSEALOGCENKYPTDIVNUWC MECH PA) with a duty station located at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, ME.
Duties
You will serve as lead or journeyman database administrator (DBA) for NSLC Portsmouths Material and Supplier Quality, Past Performance, and Logistics Information Technology (IT) Systems.
You will will provide support for interpreting, developing, and implementing regulations, directives, policies, strategies, procedures, and business practices.
You will serve as a technical database expert for providing advice for a variety of complex topics and tasks.
You will design, develop, maintain, backup, recover, rebuild, and administer databases and data management systems to meet current and future customer requirements.
You will apply Standard Query Language (SQL) expertise to create, store, access, retrieve, and update data managed relational databases including but not limited to Oracle PL/SQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
You will document database schemas, database processes, and configuration data.
You will monitor and identify current and future data capacity requirements and develop hardware and software requirements plan, along with cost feasibility studies to support budgeting requirements.
You will ensure compliance with data management standards and perform a wide range of database administrative functions to comply with all Information Security (IS) and Information Awareness (IA) guidelines and requirements.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 42 journey level within 6 months of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current IA certification IAW DoD IA Manual 8570.1-M. IA Certification must be achieved within 6 months and be maintained while encumbering this position.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating or developing databases and data management systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
