About the Position: Assists the Battle Captains in the Installation Operations Center (IOC), to provide continuous operation of the IOC. Assists the Battle Captains in the coordination of installation operations with higher, lower and adjacent headquarters, and coordinates with the installation staff in support of on-going operations.
Duties
Assist in recurring requirements, events or ceremonies, training exercises, and emergency planning as directed by local or higher headquarters taskers.
Represents the ACofS G3 as a POC for operational reporting to FORSCOM.
Coordinates with other Fort Johnson Directorates, reviews their input, and publishes final plans upon receipt of approval.
Analyzes, coordinates, and ensures all requirements from higher headquarters, are relative to Fort Johnson organizations, mission, and functions.
Reviews submitted plans for accuracy, availability of resources, and recommends approval/disapproval.
Upon activation of the Crisis Action Team (CAT), during times of crisis and when mission so dictates, the individual may be required of working additional irregular hours.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) establishing criteria to measure and assess organizational goals and objectives across an organization; 2) studying, analyzing, developing, and recommending methods of improvement for training and operational requirements 3) advising the chain of command of any discrepancies in the procedures and programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or, in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
