This position is located in the Generation Asset Management (PG) organization, Power Services (P), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).
The purpose of this position is to serve as the Deputy Vice President for Generation Asset Management, sharing with the Vice President of Generation Asset Management full authority and responsibility for providing direction and leadership in the planning.
Duties
As a Deputy Vice President Generation Asset Management, you will:
Provide leadership and oversight of internal management vision, strategies, and policies that promote and strengthen management processes and practices across organizations.
Provide executive leadership and collaborate with Front Office Executives, Senior Vice Presidents, Executive Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents to ensure consistent implementation of overall goals and strategies within the broad direction established by the COO and Administrator.
Administer internal management policies and standards across business and units.
Drive for operational excellence by developing and implementing major Generation Asset Management process improvement initiatives, and identify and initiate corrective action to resolve actual or potential problems in program execution, administration.
Provide leadership and direction in the formulation and implementation of agency-wide policy and standards.
Provide leadership in formulating and implementing high performing organization direction and objectives.
Exercise delegated managerial authority to set a series of annual and longer-range work plans and schedules to achieve major initiatives within the organization and across BPA, independently of or jointly with higher management and/or peer executives.
Assure that decisions and instructions of Management and the Senior Management are carried out as intended and translated into appropriate follow-up actions.
Serve as a member of Bonneville's Executive Leadership Team and is a key policy formulator and decision-maker in the agency's strategic planning and business decisions.
Provide leadership and strategic direction that drives budget formulation.
Support and communicate (internally and externally) regarding overall mission of meeting the administrator's load service obligations, marketing FCRPS power, stewardship and operations of FCRPS generating resources, with all supporting services to ensure reliable power production and full cost recovery.
Provide understanding, support, and leadership in administering Bonneville's Equal Opportunity Program for all applicants and employees, including minorities and women.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in leading, overseeing, and administering 1) the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal management policies and processes to achieve organizational goals and objectives; 2) internal programs including the management of operations and products, technology, finance and budget, human resources, supply chain and customer support; and 3) collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals.
