About the Position: This position is for a Senior Space Planner with the US Army Space & Missile Defense Command, located at Peterson SFB, Colorado.

Duties
Leads diverse operational planning teams (OPT) of varied sizes, incorporating internal and external experts and stakeholders, to solve complex problems.
Leads planning teams to answer detailed questions or recommend command feedback on Joint Staff, service, and combatant command policies, strategies, and plans.
Applies the military decision-making process to promote the accomplishment of USASMDCs mission and achievement of the Commanders priorities and vision.
Provides subject matter expertise for planning, coordinating, resourcing, and integrating space, and missile defense into USASMDC, combatant command, service, and Joint strategies, campaign plans, and operations.
Serves as an action officer responsible for managing projects as directed by the chain of command.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) adjudication.
- This position is subject to mandatory drug testing.
- This position may require occasional temporary duty travel (TDY) of up to 10%.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience in 1) planning, coordinating, resourcing, and integrating space, missile warning, and missile defense into combatant command campaign plans and operations; and 2) providing subject matter expertise for integrating space operations (Space Control and Space Situational Awareness) and other space capabilities into combatant command operational planning and campaign plan development across all levels of war.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03).
