About the Position: The US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) is the Army's materiel readiness command for aviation, missile and calibration that optimizes joint warfighter capabilities at the point of need. Duties

Establish management controls to ensure that the functional organizations of the directorate plan, program, budget and execute their respective responsibilities in the assigned logistics and supply programs. Coordinate the development of supply policy, plans and procedures required to provide logistical support to the various user organizations. Analyze the types of funding required and authorized for the materiel management of the supported weapon systems/equipment during each phase of their life cycle. Monitor evaluations to track areas to improve/refine quality of support provided and to identify strengths as well as weaknesses.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Secret security clearance.
  • Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • Acquisition certification, Advanced Level III, Life Cycle Logistics, within 4 years of job entry.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing staff studies and analyzing across-the-board on functional areas and weapon system lines, recommending policies and technical procedures to provide guidance to appropriate echelons to insure efficient accomplishment of assigned projects, maintaining and evaluating data on weapons system logistical mission performance, AND conducting formal and informal presentations to all management levels, outlining the history, current status and objectives the logistics program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision SupportOral CommunicationProblem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
