About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a SUPV HR SPEC (MILITARY) for the 1st Infantry Division Senior Commander AUG at G-1 in Fort Riley, KS.
Duties
Ensure that staff analyze and process personnel actions and awards in an effective, efficient and timely manner.
Direct the preparation of human resources personnel actions and reports utilizing automated computer software.
Recommend policies, plans, and courses of action affecting the military personnel management program.
Review changes in legislation, regulations, and policies, and prepare supplemental and explanatory materials as required.
Research program-related issues and draft proposals regarding program initiatives for presentation to leadership.
Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Report real-time information and total asset visibility to ensure accurate gain, loss, duty status, and other strength-related data such as, unit of assignment, specialty code, and status changes.
Establish performance standards and rate subordinate employees.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) of less than 25% annually is required.
- This position is designated a "key" position.
- Incumbent may be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.

- Defense National Relocation Program will NOT be authorized.
- A secret security clearance is required.
- Student loan repayment may be authorized.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Direct the preparation of human resources personnel actions to ensure timely processing and accuracy; 2). Plan human resource operations to meet present and future mission requirements; 3). Generate reports using automated human resource systems to analyze data required to determine the level of readiness within the organization; and 4). Establish performance standards for subordinate employees to evaluate production while providing appropriate developmental, training opportunities.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).
