You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Public Affairs Office of NSA WASHINGTON.

Duties

You will coordinate the internal and external media and community relations programs for the installation with particular emphasis on maintaining effective relationships with media and the community. You will participate in policy-making decisions impacting installation and regional public affairs programs. You will interpret, adapt, and prepare notices and instructions to implement public affairs programs and provide guidance to tenant commands and activities within the installation.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Managing multiple public affairs programs such as crisis communications, internal information programs, newspapers, and publication developments; 2) Writing news releases, feature articles, brochures, fact sheets and posters to promote programs and special events; 3) Determining the appropriate media (print, photography, broadcast, social media ) to convey information; 4) Gathering, analyzing, and evaluating data to develop appropriate recommendations and communication to the public; and 5) Preparing and presenting briefings, meeting and seminars to internal audiences.
