About the Position: The Alaska District is seeking to fill a financial management analyst position located in the Finance & Accounting Branch. An ideal candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of methods and procedures pertaining to un-liquidated obligations, TDY/PCS authorizations/vouchers, government travel card, and payroll/timekeeping actions, to include excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills, detail-oriented, and exceptional customer service skills.
Duties
Provides advice on how the accounting system functions to serve management's business needs based upon their access to detailed records, and system operational information.
Manages the Joint Reconciliation Program (JRP) to ensure accounting information is complete and accurate.
Reviews and integrates higher headquarters guidance and policy statements, directives, and pertinent financial regulations into local agency policy.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012. Incumbent of this position is required to obtain this certification within the required time.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Processing payroll, leave and/or timekeeping documents; providing assistance on payroll related issues; and/or acting as a payroll point of contact for civilian employees, managers, and other internal or external customers; 2) Working with laws, DoD Directives, finance regulations and/or financial management and operating procedures relative to entitlements and allowances related to the payment of civilian personnel and travelers; 3) Using automated systems such as, but not limited to, MyPay, Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS), Corp of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS) Modules to include Time & Attendance, Labor, Travel (TDY & PCS), and Joint Review Process (JRP). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
