The primary purpose of the WFL Education Services Facilitator (ESF) position is to plan, implement, and administer social/human service-related education. The WFL ESF provides the education and training portion of FFSC Core programs. These programs include delivering education services such as assertiveness training, anger management, parenting skills, family advocacy prevention education, Transition Assistance Program (TAP) classes, and Relocation Assistance classes, etc.
Duties
Trainer/Educator duties comprise 80% of incumbent's time and include but are not limited to:
Provides non-clinical training and education, delivering of a wide variety of education services to FFSC customers in a group or classroom setting. Topics are typically related to or in support of, work and family life, human services, and behavior or social science. These may include but are not limited to stress to stress management, anger management, suicide awareness and prevention, assertiveness training, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response, communication skills, budgeting, "Smooth Move," sponsor training, parenting, and family advocacy prevention education.
Develops and maintains assigned courses, determines the need for and initiates changes/updates in course content.
Determines the need for additional subject matter information and may meet with representatives of outside organizations in order to obtain.
Develops new or adapts revised training materials for formal course use.
Develops, implements, and evaluates all FFSC education curriculum.
Collaborates with WFL Supervisor the need for additional subject matter information and may meet with representatives of outside organizations in order to obtain it, then develop or adapt new or revised training materials for formal course use.
Establishes curriculum priorities, regularly reviewing all new and existing programing and recommending changes to the supervisor.
Ensures efficient and effective service delivery and use of resources.
Plans and coordinates all scheduled workshops, programs, and general military training (GMT) presented at the FFSC or at other locations.
Acts as liaison for command training coordinators in order to help meet the training needs of the command.
Markets all FFSC courses. Ensures creative, unique and diverse approaches to advertising FFSC courses and provides suggestions and recommendations to the Regional Marketing department. Tracks program and marketing effectiveness.
Conducts and evaluates "Needs Assessments" both formal and informal, and gears programming toward identified customer needs.
Oversees the development and maintenance of Information & Referral Materials for all programs. Ensures material are accurate, professional, and provide the types of information of use to the customers.
Ensures timely and accurate input of Fleet and Family Support Management Information System (FFSMIS) program data.
Processes and maintains all FFSC course requests, program proposers, and instructor guides. Ensures that all program and workshops are updated and approved. Keeps copies of all approved instruction guides and requests; maintains accurate and complete files on all Course Evaluations.
Reviews and updates standard operating procedures (SOPs) as necessary to ensure services adhere to established policy, confidentiality, and quality assurance.
Special project duties comprise 20% of incumbent's time and include but are not limited to:
Coordinates and completes special project activities including, but not limited to; Month of the Military Child; National Child Abuse Prevention Month; Military Spouse Appreciation Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month; Military Child Education Services; and the Command Representative Program.
Collaborates with civilian and military professional resources.
Represent the FFSC at military and community organization meetings concerning matters, programs, and services, which assist military personnel, family members, or the retired community.
Serves as liaison with appropriate city, county, state, federal, and non-government agencies, as well as military commands, to further a comprehensive education/prevention program with regards to social services affecting military personnel, such as the Military Child Education Coalition.
Requirements

- Occasional travel up to 60% of time. Duties may require some travel to different offices, military and civilian, within or outside the local or regional area.
Qualifications
Knowledge of FFSP mission, functions, policies and procedures; mission requirements, program goals and objectives.
Knowledge of, and skill in, delivering education services, with a focus on human/personal growth and development.
Knowledge of the professional methods necessary to counter any inherent psychological and/or socioeconomic stresses caused by prolonged separations which affect individuals, families, mission performance, and command readiness.
Knowledge of the Navy organization, mission, and lifestyle.
Knowledge of the military lifestyle and demonstrated knowledge of military community support programs.
Knowledge of adult learning theories.
Skill in developing and coordinating family enrichment program to meet identified needs.
Skill in training program development, curriculum delivery, curriculum review and update.
Skill in public speaking.
Skill in the use of training program presentation technology including Microsoft TEAMS, Adobe Connect, All Partners Access Network (APAN), audiovisual equipment, laser pointers, etc.
Skill in consulting with management and employees to obtain or exchange information about work objectives, processes, procedure and policies.
Skill in the use of personal computers and a variety of software (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to interpret program evaluations, needs assessment feedback, and survey data and to implement results in program delivery and market planning.
Ability to present information to large, medium, and small groups of people in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to train others in presentation skill building.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to compose written reports and give clear, concise and effective oral presentations.
Ability to meet and deal effectively with diversified groups, organizations and individuals and to maintain and establish clear relationships and lines of communication at all levels, using tact and diplomacy in all interactions.
Ability to collaborate and network across agencies and outside of the immediate organization.
Education
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
