This position is located at the Orlando VA HCS in Orlando, Florida and works within the Surgery Service, a large, complex, and very active clinical service including both in-patients and outpatient services across numerous sites. The sub-specialties of ENT, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Thoracic, Vascular, Gynecology, Wound and Urology sections are present in the Service.
Duties
Handles, manages, and processes administrative correspondence.
Maintains records and assures compliance of Safety and Competency testing.
Initiates and completes all documents required for travel of clinical staff.
Maintains database for trending in scheduling issues, patient care access and demand, consult management, etc.
Collects and compiles statistics for workload.
Provides initial and ongoing training to staff.
Assists in the development of administrative policies and directives using the knowledge of the established requirements and the stated purpose of the organization.
Work Schedule: M-F 8am-4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/31/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

Applicants must have one (1) full year of specialized experience related to this position.
This experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
