Duties

Major Duties of the Position: Create a dynamic and engaging course curriculum to anchor, develop, and sustain our high-enrollment, multi-instructor General Biology course. The major themes and concepts of our core biology course include cell and molecular biology, genetics, human biology, evolution, and ecology. Curriculum goals should provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the Department's core mission to "Develop leaders of character who are exceptionally well prepared to apply scientific habits of mind in service to the nation." There may be limited opportunities to develop and teach other courses in the applicant's area of study. Primary teaching duties include developing effective course and curriculum materials, student learning outcomes, and assessments. Additional duties include peer-mentoring in pedagogy and course design, serving on committees, advising and registering students, maintaining office hours, and fulfilling all the duties and responsibilities of a faculty member - flexibility and willingness to accommodate the needs of our students, department, institution or leadership are critical.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field from an accredited college/university, Ed.D. will be considered if requisite experience in biology is met. ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES: Expertise in biology, and effective course design and instruction. The successful candidate is expected to exemplify the Air Force's core values: "Integrity First. FOREIGN EDUCATION:
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the educational requirements. However, you must show proof that the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying in the form of an "official" statement of U.S. equivalency from a Department of Education approved (non-federal) agency (i.e. AICE, NACES), who will complete a U.S. Standard of Education Conversion.
