About the Position: This position is with the United States Army Sustainment Command located at the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Hunter Liggett, California. Fort Hunter Liggett is located on the Central Coast of California between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The nearest towns to Ft. Hunter Liggett are King City 26 miles north and Paso Robles 50 miles south. It is located in a rural area so a vehicle is a must.

Duties

Interpret guidance from Agency or Command to develop local operational guidance. Make technical decisions to resolve policy and logistics procedure matters involving logistics commodity. Develop sustainment resource requirements to ensure unit readiness and mission accomplishment. Coordinate logistics support to serviced organizations through activities within the organization. Personnel Management to include planning, organizing, assigning and reviewing work. Create reports to brief decision makers on program status and recommend actions and initiatives to enhance logistics management efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • The employee may be required to work overtime.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes includes utilizing the knowledge of logistics regulations, policies, principles, practices and methods; planning and implementing one or more logistics activity which may include maintenance, supply, ammunition, food service, laundry, transportation, property accountability, or fuel operations; utilizing knowledge of contract administration principles and practices to review contracts and verify accuracy; planning and implementing safety programs; and performing supervision. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: LeadershipManages ResourcesOrganizational AwarenessPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
