About the Position: This position is located within the Womack Army Medical Center in Liberty, NC. Incumbent will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and technical duties/responsibilities in support of meeting the department's objectives, mission, and/or operating programs.
Duties
Prepare and control requests for personnel actions, awards, performance appraisals, employee records, etc.
Maintain employee records and advises supervisor of conflicts.
Consider independent variables in deciding which system to use to produce text documents.
Utilize automation software to prepare reports, spreadsheets, charts, or graphs for the division.
Greet guest in person and telephonically to dissertate the nature of their visit.
Provide available non-technical information to customers of the organization.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining office files in accordance with agency's regulations and guidelines; utilizing automated computer programs for drafting correspondences and generating reports; and assist with processing personnel actions within an organization.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
