About the Position: This is an Supervisory Training Support Specialist with ATSC located at Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. The Hampton Roads/Tidewater area has all the conveniences of a big city with charm of small town and rural areas.

Duties

Serves as a Chief of a Training Support and Analysis Directorate (TSAID). Identifies, validates, and prioritizes training support requirements as part of current initiatives and other processes. Provides technical advice and assistance in the preparation of non-material and material training requirements documents. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, set priorities, and establishes schedules for work completion.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Business travel (TDY) of up to 25 percent may be required.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) developing and implementing training support-related materiel acquisition policy; 2) identifies, validates, and prioritizes training support requirements as part of current initiatives (e.g. Synthetic Training Environment (STE)) and/or other processes such as the Strategic Portfolio Analysis and Review (SPAR) and Short Range Training Requirements Analysis (SRTRA); 3) develop plans, policies, and procedures to resolve problems throughout the materiel acquisition process. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: LeadershipOral CommunicationTraining Program Evaluation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
