You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Fleet Support Team Logistics Division of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and readiness of assigned aircraft systems, while reducing total cost of ownership to the Navy. You will define and identify all requirements to management for contractor support services to aid in the accomplishment of the platform support functions. You will conduct and/or evaluate mission area analysis and assessment to develop Integrated Product Support (IPS) concepts and constraints. You will assess potential support program requirements, resource impacts, and risk reduction measures for alternative acquisition strategy options. You will organize, plan, and support a variety of logistics, maintenance, and program conferences, meetings, and reviews.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

FOR THE GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Defining and identifying all requirements to management for contractor support services to aid in the accomplishment of platform specific support functions; (2) Conducting and/or evaluating mission area analysis and assessment to develop Integrated Product Support (IPS) concepts and constraints; (3) Performing Level of Repair Analysis (LORAs) and Maintenance Task Analysis (MTAs) to analyze required operations and maintenance tasks for the assigned system/equipment; and (4) Investigating both existing and new technologies and processes for applications to the end item design, support system design, and to preventive and corrective maintenance requirements. FOR THE GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Assessing potential support program requirements, resource impacts, and risk reduction measures for alternative acquisition strategy options; (2) Identifying program requirements, objectives, constraints, tailoring options, and schedules to identify logistics planning tasks/actions; (3) Attending conferences relative to program assignments and coordinating with personnel regarding various logistics issues; and (4) Evaluating alternatives and providing recommendations for execution to management regarding logistics issues/problems to develop solutions. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

FOR GS-11:

Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR

OR
Have a combination of experience and graduate education that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.

OR
