Duties
The selectee will serve as a Writer-Editor in the Office of Communication and Media Relations. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $94,199) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level performing duties such as:
Supporting communication efforts for the senior executives and developing additional written content for social and news mediaoutlets
Writing, proofreading, and editing scripts for video projects including, but is not limited to writing talking points, speeches, Cabinet-level briefings, and internal action plans, and media outlets such as a newspaper, radio station or a television studio
Crafting communications and detailed updates that are accurate, readable, and present a firm understanding of the facts and circumstances surrounding important decisions
Using plain language to communicate these complex, government-centric messages, and directorates. We are committed to hiring an individual
Researching, speechwriting, and technical writing for a large, federal or private agency
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
