THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MANAGEMENT ANALYST, Position Description Number T5645000 and is part of the 174TH ATKW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.

Duties

As a Mangement Analyst, GS-0343-10, you will provide information and analyses to all levels of management using the assessments to answer the why, how, when and where questions.

Requirements

  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position within one year of appointment.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: For positions for which individual occupational requirements do not specify otherwise, general experience is 3 years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4, that demonstrates the ability to: Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible work may be qualifying as long as it provided evidence of the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) necessary to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Experience of a general clerical nature (typing, filing, routine procedural processing, maintaining records, or other nonspecialized tasks) is not creditable. Trades or crafts experience appropriate to the position to be filled may be creditable for some positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements. Must have 1 year of experience, knowledge, and skill applying analytical and evaluative methods concerning effectiveness of program operations. Experience using guidelines that consist of standard reference material and manuals. Experience performing variety of internal support, review and analysis assignments supporting various segments of maintenance management and conducting consulting or advisory services under the direction of a higher graded employee. Experience conducting management studies on methods of operation such as work processes, functional responsibility, operating techniques, organizational structure and other factors affecting the efficient and economical use of available maintenance resources.
