Duties

As a Program Manager (Tactical Aircraft), you will provide acquisition advice and consultation to CBP management and CBP Program Managers and produces the acquisition related products and documents required to move the programs through the Acquisition processes, and support the mission of CBP and AMO. This position starts at a salary of $120,849.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $157,100.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $157,100 (GS-14 Step 10). Standard work assignments may include: Planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, and evaluating the activities of an Acquisition or Acquisitions Leading complex projects, often cutting across organizational and activity lines Assuring implementation by subordinate organizations and operating units of the goals, objectives, and any Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) of platform program(s), and associated processes Exercising discretionary authority to assess and recommend the allocation and distribution of funds in the organization's budget TO MEET AGENCY NEEDS, THIS POSITION IS BEING FILLED ON A TEMPORARY BASIS NOT-TO-EXCEED (NTE) 3 YEAR(S) WITH POSSIBLE EXTENSION(S) FOR AN ADDITIONAL 2 YEAR(S) (IN ONE YEAR INCREMENTS). YOU MAY BE RETURNED, AT ANY TIME, TO THE POSITION YOU HELD PRIOR TO THIS TEMPORARY PROMOTION, OR TO A DIFFERENT POSITION OF EQUIVALENT GRADE AND PAY, AND THAT THE RETURN IS NOT SUBJECT TO THE PROCEDURES FOUND IN 5 C.F.R. 351, 432, 752, AND 771.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing a platform, multiple processes, or program segments, and the incumbent ensures AMO Acquisitions are successfully planned, programmed, budgeted, assessed, and analyzed from concept through production and operations Defining critical quality factors and process improvements and key initiatives that result in significant improvements in service delivery, reduced operations unit costs, increased quality, and reduced process and production cycle time Providing technical direction in project management, team building, collaboration, process improvement and variation analysis, and the associated methodologies required to develop and substantiate a business case for a project Developing measures that evaluate performance, making recommendations for program improvements, and managing resources to ensure successful project execution and product delivery to mission operations NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.
