This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021
Duties
As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the NH-0346-3 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Provides support with the direction, development, and performance of multi-functional logistics management operations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) goals and mission.
- Identifies the specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and services required to support the Program Manager's (PM) cost, schedule and performance objectives. Correlates PM objectives with Program plans to assure that the required logistics support is provided at the right time and place.
- Coordinates and evaluates logistics support in consideration of the twelve Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements (maintenance planning; manpower and personnel; supply support; support equipment; technical data; training and training support; computer resources support; facilities and infrastructure: packaging, handling, storage, and transportation; design influence/interface; sustaining engineering and product support management) in accordance with Performance Based Logistics (PBL) to identify and execute specific requirements, identify and mitigate risk, and to develop and adjust plans and schedules for the actions required to meet each requirement on time; Applies a working knowledge of acquisition, planning, funding, and management information systems. Researches and develops Department of Defense (DoD) and MDA logistics directives and Instructions.

- Coordinates with higher level specialists to jointly research and develop readiness and logistics plans, strategies, and procedures focusing on delivering a BMDS capability that is effective, efficient, and supportable to meet operational requirements.
Requirements
- Must obtain mandatory Back to Basics (B2B) certification within 36 months of entry into position. Position requires DoD Acquisition Life Cycle Logistics, Level Practitioner certification

Qualifications
You may qualify at the NH-03 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Experience working with logistics directives and regulations to support property management accountability
activities.
Experience working with auditors and providing training to address audit findings.
Experience working with higher level logistics specialists and across an organization to implement goals of
the Agency.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
