About the Position: Serves as a Life-Cycle Project Manager for Facility Management (FM), Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCOE) located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties

Serves as a Life-Cycle Project Manager for Facility Management (FM), U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE). Integrates and addresses processes/functions involved in medical and dental projects to support training, including design, construction, renewal/repair and technical functions. Provides professional and technical services in support of Facility Management, Academy of Health Sciences, 32d Medical Brigade, Medical Capabilities Integration Center and other offices supported by MEDCOECS and US Army MEDCOM. Coordinates facility issues with MEDCOE department chiefs, 502nd Mission Support Group, Corps of Engineers, contractors and other Garrison elements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: performing on-site facility inspections including maintenance and repair requirements; creating written reports of inspections, progress of work, design planning, and cost engineering; coordinating planning, design, cost engineering, construction and environmental restoration for engineering projects; overseeing and training lower-level employees and distributing workload in accordance with established workflow. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Facilities InspectionFacilities Reporting and Record-KeepingProject Planning, Design, and ConstructionTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
