THIS POSITION HAS TWO PRIMARY ROLES:
Supervisory engineer for the Ecosystem Engineering Section of the Digital Engineering Branch.
Senior engineer, providing technical oversight and support to Digital Engineering Systems Design and Architecture, Data Analysis and Analytics, Digital Products, as well as capability development/sustainment of toolsets and applications within the Digital Ecosystem.
DUTIES:
Serves as a first-line supervisor: performs typical personnel management tasks; assigns and manages work within the Section, organizes and conducts training; acquires necessary resources to accomplish the mission; and provides feedback and evaluations for assigned employees.
Performs engineering duties, implements digital engineering concepts, integrates digital ecosystem efforts with counterparts across the Directorate, and provides technical expertise in support of the Ecosystem Engineering Section.
Manages engineering workload for assigned area of responsibility, reviews and allocates tasks across team members, directs technical evaluations, and leads reviews of technical documentation for the Ecosystem Engineering Section.
Monitors schedule, cost, performance, and acquisition requirements for programs within the Ecosystem Engineering Section and assists in resolving issues encountered throughout the acquisition process.
Mentors, leads, guides, and directs engineers within the Ecosystem Engineering Section on technical issues; assures that assigned employees work as a cohesive team; and provides employees with opportunities that foster professional career development.
SKILLS:
At least four years of relevant engineering experience is typically required to perform the role of supervisory engineer.
Experience in leading in a team environment, and training, mentoring, or managing personnel is required.
Knowledge of professional engineering principals, logistics program management, managerial support initiatives, acquisition policy and procedures, planning, programming and budgeting systems, contracting procedures, and Air Force resource allocation procedures is highly desired.
Ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program objectives and requirements within available resources is valued.
Experience in digital engineering, data analysis/analytics, agile methodology, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Technical Data Packages (TDPs), software engineering, and/or systems engineering is highly desired.
System architecture design, Unified Modeling Language (UML) and/or Systems Modeling Language (SysML) familiarity, and Cameo modeling experience are preferred.

- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance, and will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and
participation in random drug testing.

- In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee may be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
- Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Engineering and Technical Management ?Practitioner? certification category within required timeframe after appointment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of advanced multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles,
practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.
2. Knowledge of development engineering methodologies sufficient to apply experimental theories and/or new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
3. Knowledge of systems engineering practices and procedures as they pertain to sustainment, modification, logistics, and production management principles, concepts, policies, and systems.
4. Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; of standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and of other engineering disciplines used in support of sustainment, modification, and maintenance programs.
5. Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches; to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes; and to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, form conclusions, and devise and recommend solutions to problems.
