About the Position: This position is located at the Army Dental Clinic # 3, Fort Stewart, GA.

Duties

Monitor all patient treatment data to assure accuracy. Coordinate administrative activities of the clinic on matters pertaining to the delivery of dental health care to patients. Provide clinical practice improvements and analyzes and recommends improvements in all areas of deficiency. Use personal computer to input medical information into database. Use graphic display software to produce written correspondence. Ensure Corporate Dental System (CDA) data accuracy and timeliness. Monitor scheduling process to ensure efficient patients services. Prepare schedules for completion of work by the employees. Provide management and oversight of day-to-day delivery of dental services within the clinic. Provide supervision over employees such as Dental Assistants, Dental Hygienists, and Treatment Coordinators assigned to the Dental clinic. Identify developmental needs of employees to arrange required training needs. Assign work to subordinates. Evaluate work performance of subordinates.

Requirements

  • This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation.
  • This position may require TDY travel up to 5%.
  • This position may require the applicant to receive the seasonal influenza vaccination.
  • This position is subject to a one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties.
  • This position is weather essential. Employee may be required to report to work during periods of inclement weather.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Coordinating, planning, and evaluating direct administration and management of dental clinic operations. 2) Managing the daily workload of the clinic and administrative function of the clinic. 3) Implementing administrative policies and procedures to provide cost effective and quality dental care services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsHealthcare Operations AdministrationLeading PeoplePerformance Measurement Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
