About the Position: This position will serve as an Financial Manager located at the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), G-8, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Surrounding areas include Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. The Hampton Roads/Tidewater area has all the conveniences of a big city with charm of small town and rural areas.

Duties

Plans, develop, and monitor organizations missions to effect integration of economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of operations. Administers the financial/management aspects of several programs that encompass varying regulatory controls., Administers the full scope of resource management (financial, and manpower) on a large scale across several programs that encompass various resources, contracts, force structure, budget and accounting throughout the enterprise. Serves as the resource management technical authority and makes commitments/decisions that have impact on force structure changes. Budgets revisions, program adjustments, and economic trends affecting organization resources and the overall resource posture of the Command. Supervises a subordinate staff across various subordinate directorates and divisions.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • TOP SECRET CLEARANCE - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • DRUG TESTING - The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing.
  • FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE - This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT LEVEL 3 CERTIFIED -must be able to obtain this certification within 24 months from hire date.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
