About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Provide administrative-technical and clerical support to the division chief and subordinate supervisors/work leaders within the division. Prepare various reports, composing and/or editing data submitted by functional personnel. Prepare training requests assuring accurate preparation, e.g., proper grade, security clearance, occupational field, availability of funds, suspense dates for obtaining spaces, cross-check career plans, individual developmental plan (IDP), etc. Use various software applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, to prepare reports, briefing documents, correspondence, messages, and forms both in the draft and final format. Serve as Credit Cardholder, utilizing all resources available to purchase products for the organization in a timely and cost-effective manner. Use automated data processing equipment, type into final format from written material, brief instructions, and/or voice recordings pertaining to correspondence, narrative and tabulated reports, travel documents, personnel actions, etc. Make travel arrangements using a travel system for the organization's supervisors and division employees and prepare and/or assist with the preparation of travel orders.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. GS-0303-06 Requirements Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Providing customer support such as answering phones and directing calls to appropriate staff, greeting staff and customers. 2) Utilizing automated data systems, such as Microsoft Office, to maintain calendars, compose, prepare and edit documents, correspondence, and reports. 3) Oversee training requirements. 4) Utilizing department travel system, such as Defense Travel Systems (DTS), to make travel arrangement. 5) Utilize automated supply system to purchase products. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position (GS-06) requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
