This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The Department of the Army System Coordinator (DASC) Staff Officer will assist the Director in managing a staff of DA System Coordinators (DASCs) in executing the Directorate's responsibilities related to Army-wide weapon systems acquisition oversight and program planning matters.
Duties
Provides weapon system acquisitions oversight for all assigned programs
Oversees the preparation of required documentation for coordination with HQDA staff that support and defend PEO positions and for developing coordinated Army positions on material acquisition matters and specific Army program matters.
Provides technical, performance, schedule, programmatic and cost guidance for preparation and evaluation of the Army Program Objective Memorandum (POM).
Oversees the preparation of Congressional descriptive summaries or annual reports, which describe program funding plans, schedules, and technical performance objectives for the United States Congress.
Assesses program achievements and effectiveness of the organization in order to appraise the desirability of major program changes.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- A 1-year probationary period may be required.
- TDY may be required up to 15% of the time.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Program Management Certification within 4 years of entrance on duty.

To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. This typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level (NH-03/GS-13) position in the federal service.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Experience with weapon systems acquisition oversight and program planning; 2) Assisting leadership as needed; and 3) Document preparation for applicable system requirements and weapon acquisition.
