If selected, you will serve on the Accounting Team of Marketing and Regulatory Programs and Business Services, Financial Management Division, with primary responsibility for processing and maintaining accounting documents and records.

Duties

The duties may include, but are not limited to: Provides technical advice to field budgetary and fiscal personnel in the processing of fiscal documents. Prepare and issue billings for miscellaneous goods and services. Reviews and analyzes financial reports generated by the financial system and reconciles collections from customers with bills and other relevant reports. Uses financial management and other automated systems in accomplishing billing and collection assignments.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. FOR THE GS-9 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-7 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates: Interpreting, applying, and drafting standard operating procedures of accounts receivable or payable tasks in order to perform assigned duties and resolve problems. Utilizing various computer systems and applications andcreating ad-hoc queries used in accounts receivable or payable business processes. Maintaining a shared inbox and responding to customer inquiries within specified timeframes. Providing financial information regarding proper collection or disbursement of funds. Running financial system reports, performing reconciliation duties, and making necessary adjustments based upon findings. OR Successful completion of a Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or closely related, or equivalent graduate degree. OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. TRANSCRIPTS are required if: You are qualifying for the position based on education.
