Duties
Provides support on all SCI and information security plans and policies within the DLA Intelligence (DI)certified open storage areas and DIA accredited Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
Develops and implements operational policies, procedures, programs, and standards as required to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of the
(continue) Operations Security (OPSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), Industrial Security, and SCI security programs.
Plans, organizes, evaluates, maintains, and administers the OPSEC Program for the field activity.
Provides guidance and advice to employees on standard procedures for protecting classified and sensitive information within the activity.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Security Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Incorporate a broad range of security programs relationships in order to assist in preparing and implementing guidance, training programs, and briefings concerning security issues.- Interprets and defines policies, develops and implements specific guidelines to meet localized requirements.- Ensures critical information is identified and updated as missions change.- Participates in program and project planning efforts to evaluate the need for security requirements, identify vulnerabilities, and recommends countermeasures.
B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience.
