About the Position: The incumbent serves as a Regional Technical Expert and Northwestern Division (NWD) asset but, located in Kansas City. Duties

Serves as a NWD technical expert and authority for industrial hygiene involving hazardous or toxic materials. Develops, and updates procedures, instructions, regulations, and guidance for NWD. Evaluates the effectiveness of the contractor?s safety and occupational health program through the review and acceptance of documents (contracts, scope of work, Accident Prevention Plans, Activity Hazard Analysis etc.) and site evaluations. Functions as the NWD technical lead for industrial hygiene/occupational health regulatory and technical requirements for the program, asbestos and lead-based paint. Participates in developing and conducting courses of instruction for both employees within and outside NWD.

• TDY travel is required up to 40% of the work time.

Specialized Experience for the GS-13: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing industrial hygiene investigations or surveys and collecting environmental samples using a variety of sampling equipment and techniques to make recommendations on reducing and/or eliminating occupational health hazards.
