Serves as the Environmental Branch Chief at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center's Environmental Branch. You will be responsible for the development, communication, and management of Center level policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current environmental laws, and policies.
You will perform all supervisiory requirements for the environmental branch staff as well as performing oversight of the Center's environmental support contractor.
Duties
Supervises civil servant personnel managing compliance with Armstrong Flight Research Center environmental program requirements.
Provides annual formulation oversight and management of the Armstrong Flight Research Center Environmental services branch budget in order to optimize use of available resources.
Manages long-term formulation and advocacy, of the Armstrong Flight Research Center Environmental services branch staffing to ensure personnel workloads are balanced.
Acts as the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) for the Armstrong Flight Research Center Environmental support services contract.
Provides and ensures effective, and timely, communication of issues and concerns to Agency management, Center management, and customers.
Acts as the subject matter expert for all environmental compliance issues, advising Center management and representing the Center in communications with external agencies.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level
Providing guidance and technical oversight for a wide range of environmental compliance program services including air and water quality; hazardous waste management and reduction; natural and cultural resources; and restoration and sustainability;
Leading a team or a group of Environmental Protection Specialists in an organizational to set goals and objectives;
Making recommendations for the use of resources and funding for all Environmental Protection Programs (e.g developmment, administration, and management).
