Duties
Serving as a Counseling Psychologist makes you a valuable member of the FLETC team and mission. This position is within the Student Services Division (SSD) under the Mission Readiness Support Directorate and located in Glynco, Georgia. SSD is responsible for planning, formulating, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the implementation and execution, through subordinate staff, of enterprise-wide programs and policies in support of the FLETC training mission, to include contract services and compliance activities.

- This position is designated as Emergency Essential. You will be required to sustain FLETC operations in the event of a localized situation, such as inclement weather, interruptions to power, or dismissal or closure of DHS operations or services.

The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level as a licensed mental health professional, providing expertise and demonstrating professional knowledge of current, developing, and emerging theories, strategies, technologies, protocols and techniques in rendering services for a wide variety of mental health concerns, inclusive of but not limited to acute and post- traumatic stress, critical incident response, and work/family related stress.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps and AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
In addition to the qualifications listed above, you must possess the following level of education by the closing date of this announcement:
You must have successfully completed 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology OR have successfully completed all the requirements for a master's degree in counseling psychology with an accredited educational institution.
