You will serve as a PAINTER SUPERVISOR in the Aircraft Services Product Management Office, Paint, Strip and Preservation Support Office of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Duty Station: San Diego, CA

Duties

You will direct the work of artisans either directly or through subordinate leaders, in accomplishing trade and labor operations You will be responsible for compliance of all rules and regulations, training of employees in the use of hazardous material, handling of hazardous waste and maintenance of environmental training records and shop environmental inspection records. You will plan the use of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and other resources to accomplish work of paint, final paint, paint removal, wash operations planned on day to day, week to week or quarter to quarter basis. You will track and monitor all work within assigned areas , looking for cost overruns, inefficiency, incorrect workload standards, training deficiencies, support deficiencies, etc

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Incumbent may be required to work alternate shifts as well as hours to meet mission requirement. Incumbent is subject to shift rotation as required and scheduled. Incumbent is subject to loan or detail into other shops to meet needs.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain required certification and/ or license as a condition of employment.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance of subordinate staff certification and license requirements as a condition of employment
  • Incumbent is subject to loan for field team assignments or other travel to supervise aircraft rework, training, repair, overhaul and modifications locally or to remote sites.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Managing equipment, facilities, materials and other resources to accomplish work operations. 4. Establishing priorities, deadlines and task sequencing to comply with production plans. 5. Demonstrating Paint/PMB knowledge and experience of the various methods of paint application and removal as well as trade skill familiarity to accurately direct the work of artisans either directly or indirectly through subordinate leaders, in accomplishing trade and labor operations. 6. Communicating to management both civilian and military on a variety of issues, as well as effectively communicate with shop artisans on compliance issues and work requirements. B. I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks on my own initiative including I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks on my own initiative including 1.
