This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as a Security Specialist in the Program Executive Office, Intelligence, Electronic, Warfare and Sensors, Project Manager Intelligence Systems and Analytics, located at Fort Cavazos, TX.
Duties
Implements policies and procedures required to manage compartmented (SCI) programs and to protect SCI resources.
Interpret and apply Executive Orders, Director Central Intelligence Directives (DCIDs), Manuals, and local operating instructions.
Perform duties of Special Security Officers (SSO).
Controls all collateral and SCI classified information and material within the Sensitive Compartmental Information Facilities (SCIFs) affecting the Unit's mission.
Ensures SCIFs comply with all applicable construction and physical requirements, standards, and regulations as delineated by higher headquarters.
Implements the SCI security clearance program for all assigned personnel, ensuring all required clearances are up-to-date and completed.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance with sensitive compartmental information or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This is a Term position not to exceed 6 years.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. NH-02 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: One year of general experience equivalent to the NH-01/GS-04 level in the Federal service which includes work such as:1) Assisting with the development and implementation of security-related policies for an organization; and 2) Supporting the administration or management of classified facilities and security-related operations; and 3) Implementing security procedures for an organization.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (NH-01/GS-04).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
