The primary purpose of this position is: To perform the full range of substantive clerical or procedural work in support of the force management program and to provide office automation support using multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents.
Duties
Serves as Military Personalist within the Military Personnel Flight (MPF) supporting the mission. Performs a full range of Force Management tasks involved in officer/enlisted evaluations, officer/enlisted referral evaluations, officer training reports, Enlisted Force Distribution Panel (EFDP), Special Duty Assignment Pay (SDAP), G-series, Unfavorable Information Files (UIF), duty status, duty information, and awards/decorations.
Serves as the technical expert for the installation on all elements of active duty military personnel specialties assigned to the Force Management element of the MPF. Works with Specialist who advises program lead, supervisors and military members of technical program issues.
Performs updates, inquires, and process office automation actions through military personnel data systems. Responsible for inputting military members data. Processes a variety of personnel actions within military personnel data systems.
Reviews products to identify and correct mismatched data in system and to ensure projections and confirmations have consummated and required actions have been taken. Reconciles Transaction Registers (TRs) and Management Assessment Products (MAPS), identifying corrective actions for specific transactions to eliminate repeat errors.
Performs miscellaneous administrative duties pertaining to Force Management and special actions. Determines necessity for and develops local operating procedures to implement higher headquarters' directives pertaining to section programs.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, GS-0203.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of, and skill in applying, an extensive body of HR rules, procedures, and operations sufficient to: perform a wide variety of interrelated and/or non-standard HR support work; plan, coordinate, develop facts and/or resolve support problems in one or more HR specialties; use personal computers with office applications to perform operations or to prepare complex documents containing tables or graphs; and use online HR resources to obtain information accessible over the Internet, as needed. Interpret data to determine facts surrounding improper actions committed by service members; ensure that documentation is correct and sufficient and that all levels of legal, medical, and administrative review are complete.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed graduate education that is directly related to the work of this position. (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work and must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university).

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of successfully completed graduate level education that is directly related to the work of the position, and specialized experience that may be used to meet total experience requirements.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-06 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of standardized body of military policies and procedures relating to the force management program. A working knowledge of other units within the Military Personnel Flight is desirable.
Working knowledge of military personnel data systems and data processing applications necessary for reviewing and accurately updating daily and weekly transaction registers (TRs).
Knowledge of military organizational structure, protocol, and similar matters.
Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures.
Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
Ability to interpret and apply moderately complex directives pertaining to the area of responsibility. Skills in oral and written communications with significant ability to deal effectively and tactfully with civilian/military personnel of all ranks and at all command levels.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
