The primary purpose of this position is to perform the full range of substantive clerical or procedural work in support of Outbound Assignments Unit.
Duties
Serves as primary passport agent for all active duty military personnel and reservist assigned to Travis Air Force Base.
Prepares requests and authorization for PCS.
Provides technical advice and insures timeliness and accuracy of all actions generated, monitored, or coordinated by the unit.
Follows pertinent regulatory, controls, processing steps, suspense, policies and purposes of the programs, to insure mobility passport programs function with the least practicable delay.
Uses a variety or office automation hardware, software, and peripherals in the performance of military personnel functions and performs other clerical support work.

- Required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, Human Resources Assistance Series, 0203.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of and skill in applying, a standardized body of military personnel rules, regulations, procedures, and precedents relating to relating to military separation retirement programs and resolve complex procedural and substantive problems. Knowledge of the organization and its functions and programs to answer inquiries of a general nature or to refer them to the responsible staff member.

EDUCATION: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a standardized body of military personnel regulations and procedures relating to outbound assignments.
Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures.
Knowledge of the military personnel automated system and office automation hardware, software, and peripherals. A qualified typist is required.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and maintain effective work relationships.
Knowledge in military organizational structure, protocol, and similar matters.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
