Duties

You will counsel complaints at an informal level, preparing counselor’s reports, working issues of settlement, and alternative dispute resolution program. You will provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) processes. You will plan, develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate the affirmative action program for equal employment opportunity. You will consult regularly with supervisors, HR staff, union officials, and other employees to locate and define EEO barriers, identify reasons for these barriers, and propose specific action items to correct them.

Requirements

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DA-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Understanding of employment policies, procedures, and guidance in regards to Equal Employment Opportunity; 2) Assisting in preparing various correspondence and reports to complete work assignments related to Equal Employment Opportunity; 3) Assisting in making corrections, deletions, and revisions to records; and 4) Maintaining files and records to support Equal Employment Opportunity investigations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (https://www.ed.gov/). Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
