You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the Deputy Naval Inspector General for Marine Corps Matters/Inspector General of the Marine Corps (IGMC) of DNIGMC.

Duties

You will serve as command's Network Operations Specialist and plan, implement, and operate network services/systems, to include hardware and virtual environments. You will provide administration and supervision of the command's day-to-day Information Management and Information Technology staff operations You will serve as administrative coordinator for classified and unclassified system access accounts for command staff and manages required Information Management and Information Technology and related training for command military and civilian staff. You will overseas integration and installation of Information Management and Information Technology projects

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
  • Travel of up to 10% may be required

Qualifications

I have one year of Information Technology (IT)related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Experience applying a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols, and equipment used in customer organizations; and methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying and improving Information Technology (IT) systems. Experience applying, current computer programming languages such as Python. Experience utilizing Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) guidelines, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Personally Identifiable Information/Personal Health Information (PII/PHI) security requirements, as well as knowledge of and skill in applying IT security principles, concepts, and practices.
