The primary purpose of this position is to Mobility Bag program with Weapon Certification in order to perform protective services work in guarding federally owned property; protecting government equipment and materials and controlling access to controlled storage areas by employees or visitors.

Duties

Plans, develops, organizes, administers, evaluates, and coordinates supply system programs ensuring deadlines are commensurable with mission support. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and logistics related objectives. Participates in special logistics related operation projects, duties and initiatives and performs special assignments. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships.

  • Incumbent must complete required training to achieve proficiency in handling required weapons for safeguarding government property
  • This position requires incumbent to obtain weapon certification, be on call periodically in case issues occur with Weapons Vault. Incumbent will be required to Bear Arms and guard vault until issues is resolved
  • Occasional temporary duty may be required which would require the incumbent to travel by military or commercial aircraft or other appropriate mode of transportation
  • The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle and/or forklift. An appropriate, valid driver's license will be required for the position
  • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
  • Works to achieve and support quality improvements in all products and services
  • Safeguards materials, items and equipment for assigned area. Ensures that safety, fire and health conditions are adhered to in the work area

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is described as: using analytical and evaluative techniques to assist in the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness; works with various groups or individuals to resolve problems/situations related to organizational issues; has basic knowledge of overall mission, function and organization of the agency or component and assist in applying that knowledge to solve problems or issues of the program and/or strategic sourcing. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing. Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance. Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
