Duties
Serves as the Retail Accountable Officer (RAO) for a DLA Industrial Support Activity (ISA).
Ensures the accuracy of the industrial operation’s stock record account for both DLA and non-DLA material.
Validates causative research, pre-adjustment research, inventory sampling, scheduling and analysis to include counts, surveys, denials, in-transit research, item data and stock record maintenance to ensure material accountability.
Provides oversight to the industrial site’s Packaging, Shelf-Life, and Stock Readiness operations.
Performs a variety of operational studies gathering and assessing data to identify causes of problems or inefficiencies and recommend/implement improvements.
Prepares and/or participates in developing and implementing operational policy and procedural guidance.

Qualifications
To qualify for a General Supply Specialist your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Managing stock records to ensure sufficient stock for backorders and assures the accuracy of pertinent supply data to provide information on customer backorders and prevent work stoppages.
- Reviewing documentation on Inventory Adjustment Vouchers (IAVs) transactions.
- Analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of a stock management and material control program.
- Making recommendations to improve inventory and material management work processes.
- Experience in retail supply inventory management processes utilizing DLA's Warehouse Management System (WMS)

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
