Duties
A position in the Office of Health Security (OHS), Total Workforce Protection Directorate (TWPD), Health & Medical Readiness Division for a one-year detail, with possibility of extension. Primary Responsibilities:
Assist with data collection and input for the Working Animal Veterinary Medical Matrix /Crosswalk:
The Veterinary Medical Matrix serves as a comprehensive reference tool that aligns best practices among various federal and state agencies for working canine and equine programs. It will aid with developing the DHS Working Animal Group's (WAG) Animal Health and Welfare Criteria for DHS Support and Working Animals.
Assist with Administrative Support Duties:
Perform general office duties such as filing and organizing TWPD Veterinary Files Management and documents.
Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and correspondence.
Assist with coordinating travel arrangements and working animal visits
Assist with correspondence, emails, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Must be a current permanent Federal employee
- Must have supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment. DHS 250-2 Application Form under "required documents" section.
- Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions
- Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation
- Must be currently at the grade level of the detail. *No Temporary Promotion Opportunity*
- The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors.
Qualifications
Qualifications required:
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience includes providing veterinary medical treatment to animals, diagnosing diseases, and providing specialty consultation services in veterinary internal medicine. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service
