Duties

Serve as the Command Equal Employment Specialist for the Brigade. Provide technical guidance and direction of the Brigade Equal Employment Program throughout the Brigade. Participate in planning, organizing, and overseeing EEO programs from informal to formal for the Brigade. Advise key officers, managers and supervisors on EEO program objectives, and action plans. Develop and implement Brigade policies and procedures related to Equal Employment. Evaluates the Brigade's EEO programs, analyzes and identifies problem areas, and makes recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret Security Clearance.
  • Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain an official passport.
  • Incumbent must successfully complete on-line computer based training and residential deployment training, as applicable.
  • Incumbent must pass an initial and annual medical examination.
  • Incumbent must receive/maintain up-to-date required immunization for the overseas or deployed location.

Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled which includes: advising employees and senior leaders on EEO related issues/concerns, processing EEO complaints, and interpreting EEO regulations and laws to advise management on EEO related issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
