About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Protocol and Events Coordinator at USSOUTHCOM-Chief of Staff-Joint Engagement Visitors Bureau in Miami, FL.

Duties

Serve as the Protocol and Events Coordinator for the Conference Center of the Americas (CCA), Joint Engagement Visitors Bureau (JEVB), US Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), official ceremonies, conferences, and special events. Support all CCA customers in planning and coordinating major meetings, conferences, seminars, demonstrations, tours, and formal visits. Ensure that proper protocol is followed, regulations are adhered to, and visitors are impressed with visits to the CCA/command. Prepare and submit informational reports to the Conference Center Manager covering visits by senior officials of executive agencies of the Federal government, ranking foreign nationals, and members of Congress.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security requirement.
  • TDY requirement is 10%.

Schedule events in honor of distinguished guests to address accomplishments and future missions; 2). Plan itineraries regarding travel and transportation of dignitaries to avoid any scheduling conflicts with event presentations; and 3). Track confirmation of responses from invitations regarding attendance and/or absence to create seating arrangements for events. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementAttention to DetailPlanning and organizing/Time Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
