About the Position: This position is at DEVCOM AvMC Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering & Integration (S3I) Directorate US Army Combat Capabilities Dev Cmd, Aviation and Missile Center located at Redstone Arsenal, AL. Duties

Provide direct oversight, management, and execution of RMF, cybersecurity compliance, and cyber hardening activities being executed by contractor team. Perform program management activities to include development of program plans, budgets, schedules, MOAs / MOUs, and system security artifacts as required in the execution of ongoing cybersecurity efforts. Provide technical system security expertise to improve security posture in the areas of vulnerability identification, residual risk determination, and reporting of cybersecurity compliance for systems in unclassified and classified environments. Assess/recommend product upgrades, patches, cyber posture improvements, and general security measures to identify, categorize, prioritize, secure, mitigate to effectively address potential and actual cybersecurity threats to fielded products. Serve as technical consultant to the STORM Product Chief Engineers and Cyber Division Chief.

Requirements

  • The incumbent of this position will be required to complete and file a Financial Disclosure Statement (SF 450/OGE-450).
  • This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 20% of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. Completed background investigation required.

Basic Requirements for 1550 Series: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. This series includes professional positions which primarily involve the application of, or research into, computer science methods and techniques to store, manipulate, transform or present information by means of computer systems. The primary requirements of the work are (a) professional competence in applying the theoretical foundations of computer science, including computer system architecture and system software organization, the representation and transformation of information structures, and the theoretical models for such representations and transformations; (b) specialized knowledge of the design characteristics, limitations, and potential applications of systems having the ability to transform information, and of broad areas of applications of computing which have common structures, processes, and techniques; and (c) knowledge of relevant mathematical and statistical sciences In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the specialized experience requirement listed below. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the DB-04, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (DB-03) Equivalent GS-12/13 grade level, which includes performing the following: (1) Applying Department of Defense/Service specific acquisition policies on complex defense systems, (2) Executing and supporting projects within cost, performance, and schedule estimates, (3) Understanding and applying the field of system cyber related to the acquisition of complex defense systems, (4) Communicating across a wide range of audiences, (5) Providing technical leadership to multi-functional teams.
