About the Position: Serves as Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program manager and principal advisor to the District Commander on the Equal Employment Opportunity Program including managing the program for the District in a wide variety of occupations including professional, administrative, technical, clerical, trades, operatives, and laborers.

Duties

Investigate employee discrimination complaints or allegations to determine if they are legitimate. Analyze hiring data to identify problems or trends concerning the employment of Women, Hispanic, Disabilities, Black, Asian Pacific Islander, Native American employees. Advise managers and supervisors on the Equal Employment Opportunity complaint process to assist them with their responsibilities. Communicate Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) rights, responsibilities, management directives, policies, and/or regulations to employees, supervisors. Develop methods to identify barriers for monitoring management's progress for utilization of minorities. Manage the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaint process such as inquiry contacts from employees, former employees and applicants and processing of complaints of discrimination. Enter complaint data into an automated tracking system for accountability and reference. Conduct studies or surveys on minority group skills to identify obstacles and effective use of these skills.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • One year Supervisory probationary period may be required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
