Duties

Perform repetitive duties incidental to the servicing, maintenance, and operation of dam equipment and facilities. Perform a variety of crafts and trades such as carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, welding, gasoline and/or diesel engine repairing, and concrete working as well as grounds maintenance. Apply premixed paint to rough work. Assist in clearing and burning of driftwood and other debris.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Obtain and maintain a valid, State-issued Driver’s license.
• Obtain and maintain a Corps of Engineers certification to operate a motorboat.
• Required to wear a Corps of Engineers uniform.
• This is a Drug Testing Designated Position.
• This position requires successful completion of pre-employment and/or annual physical examinations as required.

Normally required to stand, walk and bend while performing assigned duties. Must exert considerable physical effort while using pick ax, shovel and-other related tools. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside and outside. Under both conditions is exposed to unpleasant conditions, seasonal temperatures and weather extremes, possible burns, falls from hazardous footing, dirt, cuts, grease, oil, insect bites and possible injury from handling equipment. May wear protective gloves, hard toe shoes, safety glasses and similar protective devices, some of which may be uncomfortable.
