Duties
Perform repetitive duties incidental to the servicing, maintenance, and operation of dam equipment and facilities.
Perform a variety of crafts and trades such as carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, welding, gasoline and/or diesel engine repairing, and concrete working as well as grounds maintenance.
Apply premixed paint to rough work.
Assist in clearing and burning of driftwood and other debris.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Obtain and maintain a valid, State-issued Driver’s license.
- Obtain and maintain a Corps of Engineers certification to operate a motorboat.
- Required to wear a Corps of Engineers uniform.
- This is a Drug Testing Designated Position.
- This position requires successful completion of pre-employment and/or annual physical examinations as required.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) MAINTENANCE WORKER HELPER without more than normal supervision. Have the ability to perform common maintenance and construction tasks. Operate common hand tools and measuring devices of the carpentry, electrical, painting, welding, or plumbing trades to perform simple maintenance tasks. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.- Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Frequently lifts up to 40 pounds and occasionally lifts equipment weighing up to 80 pounds. Normally required to stand, walk and bend while performing assigned duties. Must exert considerable physical effort while using pick ax, shovel and-other related tools.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed inside and outside. Under both conditions is exposed to unpleasant conditions, seasonal temperatures and weather extremes, possible burns, falls from hazardous footing, dirt, cuts, grease, oil, insect bites and possible injury from handling equipment. May wear protective gloves, hard toe shoes, safety glasses and similar protective devices, some of which may be uncomfortable.
