About the Position: At the full performance level, you will perform responsible Office Engineering functions for construction on a wide variety of projects at an Area Office which administers multiple contracts progressing concurrently in various stages of completion and are administered by the Wynne Area Office. This is not a full-time remote position. The duty station is Wynne, AR. There may be an opportunity to telework a portion of the work week.

Duties

At the full performance level, you will Negotiate change orders within the guidelines of the approved Government estimate to arrive at a fair and reasonable price for the changed work. Manage incoming submittals from Contractors concerning shop drawings, detail drawings, construction materials, hardware, and survey data and other items. Collaborate with agency personnel and local organizations to establish maintenance programs and to provide technical assistance in the carrying out of these programs. Prepare findings of fact for quarterly weather modifications Analyze Contractor's initial progress schedules to determine that they set realistic expectations and that all computations are correct.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Business travel / temporary duty (TDY) is up to 25%.

Qualifications

This is a developmental position in Engineering & Construction Division, Construction Branch, Wynne Area Office and may be filled at the GS-09, GS-10, or GS-11. If selected at the GS-09 or GS-10 level, the target level for this assignment is a GS-11. The grade level selected will be based upon your qualifications. Non-Competitive promotion to the GS-11 may be effected provided you are sufficiently experienced, meet all requirements, and are performing the full scope of major duties.
