This is a Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment.

Duties
As a Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:
Constructing, installing, repairing and replacing items such as doors, shelves, supply racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim and cabinets.
Applying premixed paints or stains to masonry, gypsum board or wood surfaces using brushes or rollers.
Painting various types of structures such as interior and exterior metal, wood and masonry surfaces, and a variety of wooden trim and new and old cabinets.
Replacing hose bibs, valves, nipples, unions and elbows, fixtures, toilets, flush valves, faucets, and various types of pipe and copper lines.
Patching and repairing roofs consisting of built-up tar and paper, metal, as well as foam roofs and asphalt shingles.
Performs electrical tasks involving removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, and insulating defective wiring and fixtures.
Monitoring pumping equipment and regulating the amount of water coming in from one or more sources.
Reading meters, gauges, and charts.
Cleaning buildings, offices and comfort stations.
Emptying trash and cleaning and waxing a variety of floors.
Unloading truckloads of supplies.
Performing operator maintenance on cars, trucks, and/or vans.
Operating a forklift to transport supplies.
Qualifications
Selective Factor: This position performs, on a regular and recurring basis, the operation of light duty motor vehicles (such as pick-up trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, etc.) to transport materials or equipment to work sites over Federal, state, and county roads and city streets in all traffic conditions. Therefore, a valid driver's license is required by the closing date of this Job Opportunity Announcement.

Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic).

Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment and Knowledge of Equipment Assembly and Repair
Knowledge of Materials and Use of Measuring Instruments
