This position is located in the Pashto branch of the VOA Afghanistan Service. The incumbent conceives, writes, translates (English to Pashto), edits and produces multimedia stories for radio, TV and digital platforms, and promotes content on social media (Facebook, Twitter and YouTube).
Duties
As a International Broadcaster (Pashto), you will be responsible for duties to include, but are not limited to:
Performs production, writing, and video editing functions for TV and digital media ( e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram), controlling and coordinating the whole process from pre-production to post-production for broadcasting and multimedia platforms.
Performs the video production process as well as video editing from preproduction (story boarding ideas, scripts, etc.) to
post-production fine tune editing, color correcting, audio tuning and graphics for finalized video packages for broadcast and multimedia platforms.
Coordinates production elements, such as ensuring that coverage by field reports includes digital version of the
report; delivering digital version to the digital team prior to TV coverage; coordinating the incoming daily tape feeds and production elements timely for television and all digital media platforms.
When required, assists in booking appropriate spokespersons from a wide range of sources, including world leaders, government officials, the private sector, and the academic cultural and social institutions, as guest for interview segments.

- You must be a U.S Citizen or U.S. National.
- This is a national security position. If selected, this position requires the completion of the SF-86.

Qualifications
Screen out factor: Applicant must have fluency in both English and Pashto languages that enables you to speak, read, write, report, and translate in both languages. This language screen out factor MUST be listed in your resume to receive consideration.
Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS-11 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Exeperince required for this position is:
Experience reporting, writing, recording, editing, and producing news and feature broadcasts for posting on the Web and social media, for an established and respected news organization of national or international prominence.
Experience with designing, creating, manipulating and tailoring graphics, images, sound, animation, video and text to create integrated multimedia programs.
Experience covering a variety of topics concerning Afghanistan such as international relations, economics, culture, and socio-political development.
Education
Education is not required for this grade level. It cannot be used for qualification purposes.
